ART 2 (3-D Design)

 

3-D Design is a second-level course with Foundations as a prerequisite. Students will receive advanced instruction in the art forms of Ceramics and Sculpture using a variety of tools, techniques and media. In this course, students will have more latitude in exploring their own interests in 3-D art.

STUDIO ART HONORS

This third-level, independent study-type, advanced studio art course is designed for talented, self-motivated, and mature art students. The primary focus of this course is individual art skill development in the artform(s) selected by the student. All art projects are theme based.

AP ART

​

This college-level, independent study-type, advanced studio art course is an outgrowth of Studio Art- Honors and is designed for serious, talented, self- motivated art students who desire to produce college-quality artwork and compete on the national level to possibly obtain entry-level college art credit. Production of a Drawing, 2-D Design, or 3-D Design portfolio, according to national AP Art guidelines, is the primary focus of this class.

CLASSES

ART 1

Foundations is an introductory survey class that provides experience in the art forms of Drawing, Painting, Printamking, Ceramics and Sculpture, along with the fundamentals of artistic composition and a varity of tools, techniques and media.  (Advanced art students may be able to exempt Foundations with teacher approval.)

ART 2 (2-D Design)

​2-D Design is a second-level course with Foundations as a prerequisite. Students will receive advanced instruction in the art forms of Drawing, Painting and Printmaking, as well as composition, color-theory, and a variety of tools, techniques and media.  In this course, students will have more latitude in exploring their own interests in 2-D art.

PHOTOGRAPHY 1 & 2

​

​Photography 1 & 2 are second-level courses with Foundations as a prerequisite. These are advanced studio art courses that focus on both black & white film and digital photography, along with other photography-based art projects. Topics include composition, technical skill development, darkroom production, and digitial photo-editing.
